I graduated from Winfield High School in 2003 and attended Bevill State Community College for the next two years earning an Associates of Arts Degree.  I then transferred to the University of North Alabama where I earned my Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education and then furthered my education at the University of North Alabama and received my Masters in Elementary Education.

I first started my teaching career at Harlan Elementary in Florence. I taught Kindergarten for seven years then changed to the position of being an Instructional Coach for one year. I am starting my 9th year teaching, but my first year as a 1st grade teacher at New Bethel.

My name is Brittany Leathers and I am very excited about being at New Bethel Elementary. I am married and have two daughters. My husband Taylor is the head football coach at Colbert Heights High School and my daughter Annabelle (6) is a first grader at New Bethel Elementary. Hattie Beth (3) is soon to be in PreK and can't wait to join mom and Annabelle next year. I also have a dog named Gretta and a cat named Pearl.

I love spending time with my family and friends and of course cheering on the Wildcats and the Crimson Tide! My hobbies include shopping, decorating my home, teaching, and trying to be the best mommy, wife, and teacher I can possibly be! The Lord has surely blessed me and my family!

"May the Lord bless you and keep you;

The Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you;

The Lord lift up His countenance upon you,

And give you peace." Numbers 6:24-26
